Handcrafted Traditional South African Boerewors.

A delicious grilling sausage boldly flavoured in the traditional South African way, with strong coriander notes rounded off by a hint of clove, nutmeg and black pepper.
Best grilled over hot Hardwood coals or charcoal.

Ingredients: Ground Beef, Ground Pork, Pork Fat max 30%, Water, Salt, Spices & Spice Extracts, Dextrose, MSG (Flavour Enhancer), Preservative: Sodium Metabisulphite. Natural Hog Casings.

I ordered some boerewors and some biltong . They are both superb and very similar to the bold flavour profile that I grew up with on the farm in SA. The boerie was perfect even when cooked on a gas BBQ (although I do use a grill mat to control the inevitable flare ups). The biltong is clearly made from very good quality beef and it is dried to exactly the right moisture level. I prefer to buy it in the whole piece format and then just use a small knife to "carve" off just as much as I want to eat while preserving the rest for later. The trouble is it's so delicious it's hard to stop!

We really enjoyed the boerewors. You've got the perfect balance of spices, coriander and just the right amount of vinegar in there! We did it in the cast iron pan as it was too cold and wet to braai.
